Western Culinary Institute, Le Cordon Bleu

PARIS ARRIVES IN THE NORTHWEST!

Western Culinary Institute was established in 1983 and quickly gained a reputation for being one of the nation's outstanding culinary schools. Its quality hands-on curriculum attracted students from all over the United States and around the world.

In 1996, WCI became a part of Career Education Corporation and in 1999 formed a partnership with the world-famous Le Cordon Bleu, affording students the opportunity to graduate with a coveted Le Cordon Bleu diploma.

Western Culinary Institute offers three programs: Culinary Arts, Pâtisserie & Baking, and Hospitality & Restaurant Management. Our urban Portland campus occupies approximately 87,000 square feet in two locations: the main campus housed in the historic Galleria building downtown and the expanded facility in Northwest Portland. Academic facilities include 9 lecture classrooms with audio-visual equipment; 11 kitchen labs, a resource center/library; and 3 computer labs. Our beautiful, full-service, fine-dining restaurant, Bleu, and our café, Café Bleu, both in the Galleria, are generally staffed by students and open to the public.

Upon successful completion of on-campus courses, Western Culinary students complete externships at properties such as restaurants, hotels and resorts. Portland offers a wonderfully eclectic selection of diversions-from sports and recreation to outstanding public art and cultural events, urban parks and gardens and more, not to mention superb restaurants and a world-renowned wine region.
