  NYU Steinhardt’s 40-credit M.A. degree program in food studies (with concentrations in food culture and food systems) is at the forefront of preparing leaders in food scholarship. Join college graduates from a wide variety of backgrounds in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities who share your passion for food. Take advantage of our unique food-centered professional curriculum. Address cultural, environmental, ecological, global, economic, and political issues related to food production and consumption. Intern with leading corporations, media, publishers, and nonprofit agencies. Gain a global perspective through our popular summer Italian Cuisine and the Mediterranean Diet program in Tuscany and January intersession Global Food Cultures courses in Hong Kong and Mexico. Prepare for careers in publishing, marketing, food systems, food policy, communications, product development, product sourcing, distribution and transportation, recipe testing, teaching, research, and more.

Application deadline: February 1 (fall admission); November 1 (spring admission)

B.S. Degree in Nutrition and Food Studies
A 128-credit program combining liberal arts, hands-on internships, and professional education in nutrition and food. Admission is highly selective. For high school graduates and college transfers.
