JNA Institute of Culinary Arts

has provided quality training for the foodservice industry since 1988. Our training ensures that graduates become employable in the shortest possible time. The hallmarks of our program are: effective instructional methods, hands-on training, and material of educational relevance delivered in a friendly and caring atmosphere.

Faculty
Our faculty members have received training in numerous foodservice facilities and from varied experiences. Dedicated men and women who love their subjects and enjoy teaching, they use the case-study method combined with lectures and small group discussions.

Location and Facilities
The school is located in the heart of historic South Philadelphia, easily accessible to public transportation. Facilities include classrooms and two laboratory kitchens equipped to simulate working restaurants and assist in the proper instruction and production techniques that qualify students to meet the expectations of the foodservice industry.

Programs
Professional Cooking (30 weeks): Classroom instruction and hands-on training that may be combined with an externship at a local restaurant or other foodservice site. Students work in the school's kitchens in a simulated restaurant situation preparing meals for class and staff. Prepares students for entry level employment in a variety of foodservice operations.

Specialized Food Service Management (30 weeks): Prepares student for entry-level management employment in foodservice/hospitality industry through a combination of lectures, demonstrations and projects.

Culinary Arts/Restaurant Management (60 weeks): Prepares student for entry-level front or back of house management employment in the food service/hospitality industry through a combination of lecture, hands-on labs, demonstrations and projects.
